Earth Conscious Organics

Green is Good
As we all seek to reduce our environmental impact, a growing interest in chemical-free, organic landscaping is taking the green industry by storm.
Trendy as it may seem, advocating for organic-based treatments offers a range of benefits. From reducing environmental harm to decreasing health risks associated with chemical programs, organic lawn care reestablishes soils to naturally improve pest defense and disease tolerance. It seems only reasonable that, as fellow green industry pros, we rise to the call of this ethical responsibility. So we did just that and invested our time and resources into developing a product specifically designed for Atlanta landscapes.
Our team, led by Horticulture Director Kevin Stone, spent this past year testing and developing a new proprietary blend of organics specifically formulated for Georgia landscapes.
"This new program, which we call Earth Conscious Organics or ECO, was specially designed to be customizable for client needs and individual landscapes," Stone says. "Not only are we able to provide a more natural-based approach, but this program is designed to promote a more self-sustaining landscape."
Stone also explains that this compost-based fertilizer contains a high nutrient content to stabilize the soil. All the while lowering the chances of diseases in the landscape and improving soil structure and drought tolerance.
In short, having healthy soil means healthy plants. Having healthy plants promotes a hospitable environment for wildlife helpers and pollinators like honeybees, butterflies, birds, and worms.
How does it all work?
As good microbes from the compost make their way around root systems beneath the soil, micro and macro pores form to increase water and oxygen content in the ground.
Over time, beneficial fungi and bacteria extract nutrients from the bare mineral soil, and plants signal to the microbes what nutrients they require. Once established, organic landscape programs allow plants to be in charge of what they need and reduce the demand for fertilizer applications.
While chemical applications and traditional pesticide methods may produce quicker results, they can harm the environment and deplete soil health over time.
Organic lawn care can provide a number of benefits, including:
- Reducing exposure to harmful chemicals found in synthetic fertilizers and pesticides
- Promoting healthy soil that can better absorb and retain water, reducing runoff and erosion
- Encouraging the growth of beneficial microbes and insects that can support a more balanced ecosystem
- Improving the overall health and appearance of your lawn, as well as the air and water quality in your community.
- Naturally reducing the risk of pests and diseases, saving you time and money in the long run.
